Spicy Margarita | Recipe
If you are feeling festive and happen to be an out-going coffee connoisseur, there is nothing like a Spicy Margarita to kick the night into high gear.
This cocktail spins a classic espresso shot into daring tropical freshness. Combining coffee with chili requires a confident palate, but your adventurous spirit will be rewarded. The Spicy Margarita trailblazes in style, striking a careful choreography between hot and spicy jalapeño and refreshing, sweet mango. To finish it off, we recommend a hint of lemon and a shot of classic white tequila, chosen for its clean and fresh flavor that enhances the sweet, sour, and spicy notes beautifully.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz espresso
- 2 oz white tequila
- ½ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ½ oz agave syrup
- 60g ripened mango flesh
- 4g sliced jalapeño
- 5 oz ice
- Hand blender (recommended)
- Cocktail shaker
Method of preparation:
Quick and easy—add the mango, jalapeño, agave syrup, lemon juice, and tequila together and blend until uniform. If you have one at hand, use a hand blender for this; but any type of blender will work.
Add the blend along with the ice and the espresso shot to the cocktail shaker and (no surprise here) shake it up.
Serve in a Margarita Glass (also known as a coupette if you want to show off some trivia to your guests) for a simple and classic finish, or in a vintage short glass containing an elegant sphere (or cube, it’s all water, after all) of ice.
Non-alcoholic version:
For the perfect alcohol-free alternative, substitute the tequila for sparkling water to maintain that daring savory boldness.
Enjoy the night, and savor this cocktail in great company!
